Connecting Consumers to Farming and Food

We are so excited about the response to the Canadian Food Focus project! We launched the website and social media in March 2019 and in the first 6 months we have reached over 1.5 million Canadians mostly in urban areas. We have also had over 40,000 website visits that last on average over 2 minutes. We have also had over 100,000 likes, shares and comments through our social media platforms.

Recipe Collection Push on Spread the Mustard Social Media

Each month we create a recipe collection of Spread the Mustard recipes and push it out through social media. It is a cost effective way to that captures the audiences’ attention and drives traffic to our website. For example: This post linked to an article on our website for appetizer recipes reached 3,334 people with 598 engagements including 110 shares!

Sustainable Farming Social Media Posts for CanolaInfo

These are a set of social media posts we developed for CanolaInfo.org to highlight the importance of soil conservation and sustainability to Canola farmers.

Social Media Post: Canola farmers not only make their living from the land; they also live and raise their families next to the fields they farm. That is why healthy soil, water and air are so important to them. #sustainablefarming

Nuffield Canada Agriculture Scholarship Social Media

Over the past year, we have helped Nuffield Canada Agriculture Scholarship with posting, content development, Facebook and Twitter advertising, graphic development for their Facebook and Twitter pages. We also helped them set up Hootsuite to schedule their posts and improve engagement with like-minded organizations and potential funders. As a small non-profit with a limited budget, our goal was to set them up with the tools and the confidence to eventually manage their own social media in a cost-effective way.  Although we will still provide support from time to time, we are happy to say, that they are now maintaining their platforms.
